1. Your Home is a place for Self-Expression.

Your home is your sanctuary, a place where you find comfort; it should be a safe space for you to be you, unapologetically.

Whether it is The year of the Fire Horse or not, we encourage you to tell your story through your favorite decor, objects, artworks, collections etc.

It could be a painting gifted to you from your niece, the coffee table you couldn't take your eyes off at the vintage shop or a rug that reminded you of the trip you went two years ago. As long as you see its value, it deserves a special place in your home.

2. Reds are off-limits.

If you're someone who is into Feng Shui or the Chinese Zodiac, you probably already know that red is not our go-to color of the year. Although Red is typically a symbol of luck in Chinese culture, it is deeply associated with the fire element which means too much of it would create a "Double Fire" effect. This could cause conflict and add unnecessary stress around you.

If we have to choose, we would go for a shade of red that has a warm undertone; something that is closer to Orange since it is a color in between the spectrum of red and yellow.

3. Earth Tones

Earth Tones reflect the organic palette of Nature - the browns of soil, the greens of foliage, the muted hues of bark and stone. They are sophisticated in an understated way, creating a sense of calmness and rootedness in a space.

While the Fire element embodies passion, optimism, and dynamic energy, excessive amounts of Fire can become overwhelming or destructive.

Incorporating earth tones is an effective way to restore its equilibrium. By introducing these grounding hues, you can absorb excess fire energy and keep it under control.

4. Declutter and Stay Organized

The best way to navigate around the Fire Horse is to stay organized and keep your home clutter-free. When the environment around you is in order, your mind follows, turning what could be a year of chaos into one that is balanced, controlled and productive.

This can be as  simple as placing your laundry where it needs to be, or throwing out things that no longer serve you. In letting go of what is old and unnecessary, you clear a path for clarity and calm, cultivating a sense of peace within your home.
